Grade 9 Art Exhibition

These are some of the paintings by the grade 9 students put out on display at our school. They were part of an art class project where we had to research an artist and the art movement of his time, choose an artwork they made, and create a replica of the artwork. Though, this was done through a series of media experimentations, thumbnail sketches, and drawings. The media used in these artworks was acrylic paint on canvas though some students used some Indian ink, tempera paint and other materials. The end results were quite surprising actually, I never imagined that our grade 9s would be able to have such successful results. So congratulations to the grade 9s!

Mine is the one on the right side of the picture. The artist I chose was Robert Delaunay and the artwork I copied was his artwork "Sun, Tower, Airplane" where he used the style Orphic Cubism.
