The Treble Clef
This is me "painting" swirls using indian ink onto a large treble clef that I drew, cut out, and pasted a large piece of paper on. This is an artwork that I never did anything similar to, and it was something I never really attempted. Though I had a clear vision of what I wanted it to look like and I just worked towards that and I got it just right.

Egypt - The World Stands Behind You
This is just one AMAZING video that left me with a huge smile =)
Ramadan Kareem!
Ramadan is an amazing month, a month of forgiveness, good deeds, fasting, and getting together with family and friends. It is a time where we celebrate because the gates of heaven are open and the gates of hell are closed a time where prayers are worth more and sins are washed away. In Ramadan the streets are filled with this warm and welcoming feeling and where people greet each other with wide smiles wishing each other a Ramadan kareem. Though nothing is like Ramadan in Egypt, where there is this feeling, a connection between people and these amazing experiences that in my all my 14 years have never felt or seen in any other country. The streets are decorated with all types of decorations lights and "Fawanees Ramadan". The streets come to life and the air is full of joy, and colorful lights are visible as far as the eye can see. People go to the street markets to buy fawanees and hang them up and also buy "bomb" and "sawareekh".
There are also many changes this year in the attitudes and the personalities of the people in Egypt, something that just makes you so proud to be Egyptian and so proud of the things that no one thought could be done, but despite all the odds we still managed to do it, overthrow Hosni Mubarak. People are now a lot more aware of things that are happening in the country and in the political field. Everywhere I go, I always hear people talking about news, politics, Tahrir Sqaure, Hosni Mubarak, and thats just amazing because before, no one had the courage to talk about things like that, and others just simply found no use in talking about it. But now, people know that they have a voice and that their voices will be heard, they are not afraid to speak up. Also people now are finally feeling that Egypt belongs to the Egyptians and not some corupt government, and because of this, people are begining to feel certain responsibilities towards the country. Volunteers of all ages are going out and taking a step towards making their country better by doing little things such as repainting the sidewalks and cleaning up the streets. In addition, community and service projects are constantly being made in order to make a change. In the end, these are only SOME of the things that makes Ramadan in Egypt unique, and espetially this year after a revolution that will change Egypt forever
.
Pure Failure
Ok, the Macaroons didn't really turn out the way they were supposed to be... actually I'm not sure I even made Macaroons, they didn't look or even taste the way they should have... insetad, they turned out empty in the middle, flat, and very crumbly... they were just terrible :( Though I guess they tasted ok... a bit to sugary, but still edible.
I actually found the pictures above on someone els's website... they looked really similar to mine though hers was made with coconut shavings and mine was made with almonds.

Making Macaroons for Dessert Tomorrow! YUMMY!
Macaroons are AMAZING... the first time I tasted one was in a hotel, and I just fell in love with them. Coincedentaly, I whatched an episode of Masterchief Australia where they made macaroons and since then I really wanted to try making them myself. So, I looked on youtube to find a good video and I thought this one was a really good one. Though, I'm just hoping that the ones I make don't turn out a disaster.
Starting in Photography and Editing
This photo was taken at Azhar Park in Egypt. My father encouraged me to try photography and to try photoshop, and thats exaclty what I did. Also, since we traveled to Egypt, I took that as an advantage and started taking photos and playing around with the photos on photoshop. This is what I came up with in the end.
