Expectations
"Don't hold up your expectations too high, you'll end up disappointed." I was told that being a pessimist is probably the best solution, "you're never disappointed", and if something good happens, "you're always pleasantly surprised."

being an optimistic doesn't necessarily mean having such high expectations. Just keep it simple, open and welcoming to life's surprises. Sometimes, your expectations are not only high but also wrong !! so for now.. don't expect.. enjoy what you get.. and remember..when life gives you lemon.. make lemonade.. :)
Why keep expectations at all? Just go with the flow and take the bad and the good in stride. Expecting something always brings some kind of negative consequence with it, so instead, just take what comes to you. You don't have to label yourself a pessimist or an optimist; you just have to know how you want to live. There isn't a way that you have to follow, you make your own path and you choose how to walk it. There's no right or wrong answer, just shades of gray.
thank you for your responses! actually being optimistic kind of does tie in with having high expectations, you expect tomorrow to be a brighter day... but usually its more the way you see things... so sometimes its pretty hard finding the good side of things... but yes i guess you do have a point about better not expecting and just making the best out of things :)
well then you get artificial sweetener,usually does the trick, im guessing thats how optimism works?
finding out how you want to live is not as simple as you make it seem. sometimes its difficult to decide how to think, too many things happen and you're just left behind not knowing what hit you and how to think about it.

But there's no sugar to make the lemon taste good. So it's just sour lemon juice...... Se how pessimism works?
